Post spacing varies by application, but the system is engineered to maintain proper cable tension and minimize cable deflection while providing a clean appearance. End-to-end termination can span up to 20 feet. However, we recommend pass-through posts every four feet to minimize deflection.
When properly tensioned, the cables maintain excellent performance. High-quality cable and engineered terminal hardware help minimize sagging and reduce maintenance requirements. It is a much greater possibility that wood posts will expand and contract during seasonal temperature changes. That is why we have designed an easily-adjustable system.
Very little. Periodic cleaning and occasional cable tension checks are typically all that is required to keep the system looking and performing its best
Yes. The powder-coat finish provides excellent resistance to weathering, UV exposure, chipping, and corrosion in most residential environments.

Yes. ACS includes components specifically designed to accommodate stair runs.
We offer premium handrails manufactured from Red Oak and White Oak, available in 8-foot and 10-foot lengths. The handrails are specifically designed to integrate with the Artisan Cable System. There is also a ½” X 2” aluminum handrail available in 8-foot and 12-foot lengths.
A wood handrail provides warmth and character while maintaining the modern, open appearance of cable railing. It also serves as a strong top rail that complements the steel post system.
A Pass Through Post supports straight cable runs while allowing cables to pass continuously through the post without terminating, resulting in a cleaner appearance and fewer termination points.
A Single Face Post is used at the beginning or end of a cable run where cables terminate on one side of the post.
A Double Face Post allows cable termination on both sides and is frequently used where two cable runs meet at the same post.
Corner Posts are designed to support cable transitions around corners while maintaining proper cable alignment, structural integrity, and visual consistency.
Most installations can be completed using common woodworking and construction tools. The only proprietary tool is the ACS Driver, which is included in order over $500. A quality-built cable cutter and crimper are recommended for best results. We offer tools on our site or you can purchase them at a local hardware store.
